About This Place

Nestled conveniently at 13037 U.S. 50 Service Rd in Fairfax, VA, Flame Kabob offers a flavorful journey into Afghan and Middle Eastern-inspired kebab cuisine that’s both satisfying and affordable. This unassuming kebab shop, tucked within a strip mall, excels at delivering tender, juicy meats and a warm, welcoming atmosphere perfect for casual dining or a quick, hearty meal.

Flame Kabob specializes in a variety of succulent kabobs including their standout Chicken and Steak, Chicken and Beef Kabob, and the ever-popular Kubideh Kabob. For lamb lovers, their Lamb Kebab stands out with an expertly balanced mint sauce that delivers a refreshing kick and complements the tender meat beautifully. The kitchen also impresses with unique offerings such as the Fish Fry Aurata and even a Stromboli, blending traditional and unexpected flavors seamlessly.

The menu is thoughtfully rounded out with freshly baked Pita Bread and sides that elevate every meal. The chickpeas are notably spiced to perfection—tender but never mushy—making them a favorite among regulars. Sides like lentils (dal spicy), spinach sabzi, and rice complement the flavors of the kabobs and are served alongside flavorful dips such as the creamy white sauce and zesty green sauce. A mention-worthy dessert is the traditional Jalebi, a sweet treat that wraps up the meal on a high note.

Customers frequently praise the generous portions and quality of the meat. The chicken, in particular, seems to have a special reputation for its juicy tenderness and bold seasoning that sings in every bite. According to patrons like Kev C, the meat outshines many competitors with its juiciness and texture, while others like Jeff Veers have fallen in love with the lamb kebab’s perfect pairing with the mint sauce. The friendly service and reasonable prices make Flame Kabob a solid choice for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners.

Diners will find seating options both indoors and out on a cozy patio, lending a relaxed vibe to the experience. Though some customers have noted that the sidewalk outside could use a cleanup, the inviting interior and energetic atmosphere make up for it—the cultural authenticity is even enhanced by the owner’s habit of sharing traditional ethnic TV shows that add an immersive touch to your meal.

In terms of value, the combo platters are a highlight, featuring combinations like the Flame Combo 3 (three beef kubideh and chicken) served with rice, salad, bread, and sauces, providing guests with a complete and satisfying dining experience for just under $20. For those seeking a lighter, budget-friendly option, the manager’s special—chicken, rice, bread, and chickpeas for $10—comes highly recommended by frequent visitors.

Overall, Flame Kabob stands out as a gem in Fairfax for those craving authentic, flavorful kebabs served with generosity, care, and a touch of cultural flair. Whether you're a kebab enthusiast or simply in search of a dependable spot for well-crafted Afghan-inspired dishes, Flame Kabob promises a meal that delights the senses and keeps you coming back for more.

Free parking. Also has patio dinning. The food was good better than most kabob. Meat was tender and juicy. Rice just so so. Price is about 15 per dish after tax.

Love that the guy behind the counter felt the need to share some ethnic tv show from his country with the customers. It had women wailing and dancing . Of course he had it turned up at a robust volume so all could enjoy. The food is good and decently priced. The sidewalk outside needs washed. Icky.

Chicken was incredibly delicious, chick peas were spiced perfectly, bread was good, rice was good. Couldn't be happier with the food I got. I was told the chicken here was great and it's true. My job takes me all over Virginia, when I'm in the area again I will be coming back. Friendly service. Manager special, chicken, rice, bread, chick peas, for 10 dollars. This is great value, it's so rare to feel like I got my money's worth at a restaurant. I can't imagine why anyone is going to the McDonald's across the street, paying the same price for way less and way worse food. I haven't had afghan food in over a decade and this reminded me it used to be one of my favorites.

Super tender lamb kebab, tasty mint sauce on the side with just the right amount of kick! But my favorite was the chickpea side dish. Super flavorful and the chickpeas were tender without being mushy.

This restaurant in a strip mall. It is pretty quick at serving up decent afghan kebab. The portion is generous and the flavor of the chicken, kubideh, and steak is decent. The chickpeas are okay and a salad is typical. The chickpea and a coup today have a slight spiciness to it if you're not used to any spicy flavoring in your food. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Each menu item comes with bread. The bread is pretty fresh and delicious.

We went here for an early dinner after about 10 years or so of not coming. Not that we didn’t like it but we’re a little hike and now we finally have restaurants closer where we live in Loudoun Co. I tell you what, this food is still as delicious if not more than then. Still the same family ran owner and so very nice. He remembered us because we use to come monthly or more. The food is made fresh to order and even the bread is made right away. Hot and fresh! They currently have a $9.99 Manager Special. It’s one kabob, rice, one side, and bread. It use to be the lunch special years ago but is all day long! It you’re in Fairfax or even Chantilly-Loudoun, you’ve got to try this gem. They’ve also been in business for 25 years!

Getting my food right now. All I have to say is just what an amazing place this is. I’ve been here 3 times already, and so far have had no bad experiences so far. Definitely would recommend. Trust me the place is really good, this is coming from their neighborhood store which is T-mobile.
